AT&T ‘Idol’ Texts Annoy Some Fans

AT&T, a sponsor of Fox’s “American Idol,” promoted the program by sending out text messages to “a significant number” of its 75 million customers, urging them to watch the Tuesday debut, the New York Times says. Some customers were offput by the text, calling it “evil” and “spam.”
