About half of the commercial breaks during National Football League broadcasts include advertisements that feature violence, sex, alcohol or drugs, with much of the violence coming from spots pitching the networks’ own shows, the Associated Press reports, citing a study by Common Sense Media. Ads for erectile dysfunction drugs were aired in about 40% of the pro football broadcasts, the wire service says.
