“The Bachelor” creator Mike Fleiss said the ABC romance reality series started “taking chances” with the show format, leading to renewed interest in the show among viewers, BusinessWeek reports. In an interview with the magazine, Fleiss said some of the producers “freaked” when it became clear that season 11 star Brad Womack would reject both finalists, but the final was enough to “revive interest in the show.” Although his company Next Productions suffered from the fallout of Fox’s “Who Wants to Marry a Multi-Millionaire?” Fleiss said Next wrapped up last year having made $100 million, BusinessWeek says.
