SAG Board Majority Votes to Oust Chief Negotiator

A “majority” of the Screen Actors Guild’s national board has filed a written assent in the effort to fire current National Executive Director and Chief Negotiator Doug Allen, the Huffington Post reports. The document, as signed by the board majority, would effectively remove Allen from his post and replace him with former general counsel David White as interim national executive director and SAG senior adviser John McGuire as chief negotiator, the site says. The document makes no mention of guild President Alan Rosenberg, but entertainment attorney Jonathan Handel speculates that SAG may investigate some “deficiency in the document” and could go to a lawsuit, the site says.
