Super Bowl May Sell Fewer TVs

Fewer Americans plan to buy new televisions to watch Sunday’s broadcast of the Super Bowl, as the recession dampens consumer purchasing in what is usually a peak time for TV purchases, Bloomberg News reports. According to a BIGresearch survey for the Retail Advertising and Marketing Association, 2.7 percent of people surveyed the first week of January planned to buy a new TV for the game, down from 4.1 percent in 2008, the news service says.
