Shiri Appleby, Kristoffer Polaha and Kerr Smith have been cast in the CW’s pilot for “Light Years,” a drama about a 16-year old who tracks down her biological father, who will be played by Polaha, the Hollywood Reporter says. The character’s mother will be played by Appleby, who is taking on her first mother role and, at 30, is just 11 years older than the actress playing her daughter; Polaha is 31. Smith will play the main character’s boyfriend.
