With News Corp. President and COO Peter Chernin leaving his post in June, the company loses a ‘Solomonic’ figure who mediated disputes between units at the media conglomerate, TVWeek reports. While CEO Rupert Murdoch is stepping into the roles Chernin played, it remains to be seen how units (such as the entertainment cable networks and the news cable networks) settle their differences, the publication reports. Some News Corp. executives said they couldn’t think of a unit at the company that would fare better with Mr. Chernin gone.
