Nine Georgia television stations, including Atlanta’s PBS affiliate WGTV-TV, switched to digital broadcasting, the Atlanta Journal-Constitution reports. Bonnie Bean, the acting executive director of Georgia Public Broadcasting, said the station’s old equipment and looming state budget cuts were some of the reasons that persuaded the station to make the change by the original Feb. 17 deadline, the newspaper says.
