The National Telecommunications and Information Administration is several weeks away from having access to the approximately $168 million it needs to fill the 4.2 million outstanding public requests for coupons that can be used toward digital-to-analog converter boxes for the switchover to all-digital broadcasts, Multichannel News reports. While President Barack Obama is expected to sign the economic stimulus package, which allocates funds to the coupon program, the NTIA is at least a week away from receiving the money, Multichannel News says.
