The well-known bartender who worked in the bar that inspired the TV series “Cheers” was laid off after 35 years and after raising $1 million for charity, the Boston Globe reports. “They says it’s a bar where everybody knows your name, but it’s really a bar where everybody knows Eddie Doyle,” former Boston Mayor Raymond Flynn tells the paper.
