Reality show producer Fremantle North America was accused of maintaining “sweatshop” conditions and not paying overtime by three former employees who worked on series including “American Idol,” the New York Times reports. The suit, filed in Los Angeles Superior Court, seeks class action status for employees who worked at jobs including field producer, segment producer, talent coordinator, the paper says.

  1. Overtime? Who is kidding who here?
The very titles, Segment or Field Producer for any production mean, “here’s the job, now go do it”. There’s no overtime paid for these positions. You make a deal at the front end and then meet you commitment. If you made a bum deal in your eyes, remember that the next time you negotiate. In the meantime do a knockup job and create a reputation that will inspire a better deal, or look for work elsewhere.
Spoiled brats should be damn grateful they’re working…period.
