President Barack Obama’s appearance on “The Tonight Show With Jay Leno” showed a balance between being humorous and being presidential, the New York Times reports. The appearance demonstrates how American culture has changed, with Obama’s visit to the show marking the first sitting president to appear on a late-night comedy show, the Wall Street Journal reports. “A lot of people were surprised the president flew 3,000 miles (to California)—but that happens to a lot of guys when their mother-in-law moves in with them,” Leno quipped, the Journal says.
