Poehler Puts Personality into ‘Parks’

Amy Poehler tells the New York Times her character in NBC’s new sitcom “Parks and Recreation” has all the qualities she loves to play. “She’s naïve and narcissistic, completely deluded and completely out of touch with reality,” she says. The show is from the creators of “The Office,” but it’s unclear low-rated NBC can give the show the same kind of time “The Office” got to find its voice, the paper says. Newsweek says Poehler’s character fits the zeitgeist of the age of Obama.
