New York television stations have cut many jobs since the recession started, and some veterans say it’s having a negative effect on the city’s news coverage, the New York Post reports. All of the veterans interviewed asked not to be named, the paper says. “I’m seeing fewer live shots on some stations. Everything seems to be on tape. If they send crews out, then don’t use what they shoot, they don’t have to pay [the crew] overtime,” one station employee told the newspaper.
