TV Development Back to Normal

Despite the recession and last year’s writer’s strike, the development season at the networks feels a lot like business as usual, the Hollywood Reporter says. Although some costs are being cut, “we’re still producing the same pilots, seeking the same talent and going through that lemming-style behavior,” a top studio executive tells the trade paper. With 72 pilots ordered this so far season, the networks are below the more than 100 pilots ordered each season from 2005-2007 but above the 61 ordered at this time last year, the Reporter says.
