YouTube Clinches ABC Deal

ABC and ESPN will put clips on Google Inc.’s YouTube, vastly expanding the Walt Disney Co. properties’ Internet reach, TelevisionWeek reports. ABC is also nearing an agreement to take a stake in the News Corp.-NBC Universal Web video joint venture Hulu, which would leave CBS as the only large network not participating in Hulu, Bloomberg News says. Disney underscored that YouTube won’t have access to any long-form content from its cable channels, the Wall Street Journal says. The media company will create ABC and ESPN channels on the site with sports highlights and clips from ABC News and ABC Entertainment, the publication says.
