Belo Corp.’s first-quarter revenue dropped 24%, largely on declines in both local and national advertising of more than 20%, Broadcasting & Cable reports. The company has enacted cost-saving measures including staff cutbacks and wage freezes in order to cope with issues such as the plunge in automobile advertising, B&C says, citing Belo CEO Dunia Shive.
