Blind “American Idol” finalist Scott McIntyre, who was recently booted from the show, said he decided to keep his history of kidney failure and a transplant under wraps while on the show because “I didn’t want all of my challenges to weigh in to the voting,” the New York Post reports, citing an interview on Monday’s “Live With Regis & Kelly.” McIntyre had two years of kidney failure and dialysis, receiving a live-donor kidney transplant from his piano teacher’s wife in 2007, the tabloid says.
