Fox Won’t Air Obama Press Conference

Apr 28, 2009  •  Post A Comment

Fox says it won’t air President Obama’s Wednesday press conference marking his first 100 days in office, TelevisionWeek reports. ABC, CBS and NBC all plan to carry it. Fox’s move appears to be based less on politics than on business: It won’t have to preempt “Lie to Me,” which has been losing momentum in the ratings and would be hurt by a week off the air, TVWeek says.

  1. Good for FOX! I’m tired of the “messiah” trying to be more of a star. He’s done WAY too many conferences already… maybe someone doing this, avoiding the press conferences, might show that the first 100 days of his presidency is hollow, with almost nothing getting done. Sure, a little travel and being on “holiday” in the EU, and making more of a star of one’s self.. sure that’s making America better! Hey, if “look aT ME, ME ME!” were the only requirement for the Oval Office, I’d have run myself.
Fox is doing a good thing here. Hopefully they continue to make a statement.

  2. I agree. I just wish the other networks weren’t so weak in the knees and would also refuse to air the self-congratulatory news conference.

  3. Riiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiight.
Good ol’ Fox and their line-up of on-air idiots would NEVER make any decision based purely on politics!
If you don’t want to watch your Democratically elected President then change channels. I’m sure The Beverly Hillbillies is running somewhere!
