Ted Forstmann, the investor who became famous for his 1980s takeover attempt of RJR Nabisco, is informally advising Endeavor’s Ari Emanuel about the merger negotiations between his firm and the William Morris agency, the Los Angeles Times reports. IMG spokesman Jim Gallagher tells the newspaper that Forstmann had often discussed the deal with Emanuel and that the two men ”are old friends.” Forstmann is the chairman of IMG, a sports, fashion and media marketing company, the publication says.
