Broadcast ratings have declined 5% to 10% this season, while ad-supported cable is the beneficiary, according to a study from Magna, MediaPost reports. Each network has challenges, from ABC dealing with a lack of new series successes to concerns that CBS may leave shows on air too long, Magna executive VP Steve Sternberg writes in the report, according to the Website.

That’s going to continue as long as the networks remove well written, interesting shows such as Eli Stone, Pushing Daisies and Life on Mars, and instead put cheap “reality” pap shows on.
