Networks Cutting Costs on Casts

CBS passed on putting Candice Bergen in its new comedy “Big D” because she was seeking more money than the network was willing to spend, USA Today says. Cutting star salaries is just one way networks are trying to cut the costs of prime time series, the paper says, including shooting in inexpensive locations and shooting in digital video.

  1. Finally a cost-cutting measure that makes sense. Hopefully they can stick with stuff like this instead of layoffs.
