The New York Governor’s Office of Motion Picture and Television Development saw a jump in applications in the first quarter, helped by the state’s recent renewal of its tax incentive program for TV and film production, Daily Variety says. The office processed 44 applications (including two pilots and nine TV series) in the quarter with projected spending of $845 million. That was up from eight applications with spending of $180 million a year earlier, the publication says.
