The Screen Actors Guild might be close to reaching a new deal on a contract with the studios and networks, the Los Angeles Times reports. A breakthrough appears to have come in backchannel talks between the union’s interim executive director David White and top Hollywood execs including Disney’s Bob Iger and News Corp.’s Peter Chernin, the paper says. Members of the SAG negotiating task force will meet Tuesday for an update on the talks, Daily Variety reports.
