More TiVo users record programs airing at 8 and 9 p.m. than 10 p.m. shows, Multichannel News reports, citing data gathered by the DVR service from its subscribers. For viewing data for the month of February from ABC, CBS, Fox and NBC, TiVo found that 59% of users recorded programming in the 9 p.m. hour and 58% of them recorded shows from the 8 p.m. hour. Recording for the 10 p.m. hour was at 53% among subscribers, many of whom watch 8 and 9 p.m. shows within an hour of recording. “While some viewers will record programs aired at 10 p.m. for viewing later in the week, many are abandoning that hour of television altogether,” said Todd Juenger of TiVo’s audience research and measurement group, according to Multichannel.
