WGN America Begins Rebranding

WGN America is starting a rebranding campaign this month, with a new look and sound for the network, Broadcasting & Cable reports. A new logo with the tag line “TV You Can’t Ignore” and a graphic of a woman’s eyes will be featured, as well as a five-note tune similar that will be associated with WGN in the way people think of NBC when they hear its three-note chime, the trade paper says.

  1. Once again, get your facts straight. The eyes and tag line “TV You Can’t Ignore” is WGN’s current logo. The article says they are changing from that one to “a look more reminiscent of classic television shows”. Do you even watch TV?

  2. And of course, they decided to poach a story from rival Broadcasting & Cable (!) rather than write their own article on the subject – which they would’ve gotten wrong, anyway. You’d wonder if this would happen if this was still Electronic Media and Ron Alridge was still in charge.
