WYOU-TV in Wilkes-Barre/Scranton, Penn. said it’s scrapping its local news broadcasts and laying off 14 news, production and promotion staffers, TVNewsday reports. The change from local news to syndicated entertainment and news magazines will save the station about $900,000 annually, the trade publication reports.
