‘Earl,’ ‘Chuck’ Delayed by Negotiations

The renewals of “My Name Is Earl” and “Chuck” have been delayed by negotiations between NBC and the shows’ studios, DeadlineHollywoodDaily reports. NBC made a low offer for the license fee for “Earl,” and its owner, 20th Century Fox, issued a counter-offer to which NBC hasn’t yet responded, the Web site says. As for “Chuck,” NBC wants to tie the renewal of the Warner Bros. show to passing on “Legally Mad,” a pilot from the same studio, because the network would like to avoid paying a $2 million penalty for passing on the pilot, the site says.
