The story line on “Grey’s Anatomy” following Izzie’s cancer treatment has drawn criticism from doctors and cancer survivors, who say it inaccurately portrays treatment of the disease, USA Today reports. The doctors on the show decide to either treat her with surgery or a drug called interleukin-2, although with Izzie’s type of cancer, that drug is never recommended, the newspaper says, citing Otis Brawley, chief medical officer at the American Cancer Society.
