WGA West Sends Work Warning

May 13, 2009  •  Post A Comment

The Writers Guild of America, West, sent a message to 8,000 members to remind them they can work only for companies that have signed guild contracts, Daily Variety reports. The message came in response to the increase in work from Internet companies, which may not have taken steps to negotiate a guild contract, the trade paper says. The publication adds that violating the rules can lead to fines equal to what the writer was paid.
