WMAQ-TV anchor Warner Saunders signed off from the Chicago television station, retiring after 29 years at the station and a dozen years as its top anchor, the Chicago Tribune reports. Saunders, 74, returned to formally sign off after being off the air since March after hip-replacement surgery complications, the newspaper says. The station will be airing a half-hour retrospective of his career on Sunday and Monday, the Tribune adds.
