WNBC-TV in New York has grounded its helicopter as part of a cost-cutting move and combined chopper forces with WNYW-TV, the New York Daily News says. For the last two weeks, WNBC viewers have heard WNYW’s Kai Simonsen broadcasting from its SkyFox helicopter, the newspaper says.

WNBC grounds it’s Chopper? Give me a BREAK!
What a simplistic and inane way to “cut costs”.
I’m sure there are over paid, unneeded execs whose salaries would more than make up the difference, and there are those seven figure anchors to consider too.
In the Number One Market…the eye from the sky needs many portals…WNBC is NBC News’s eye over Manhattan too…
Amazingly short-sighted…or, in this case, UN-sighted, (at least from the air).
