“American Idol” host Ryan Seacrest is getting a major pay raise that will put him in the top paid ranks of TV reality hosts under a contract renewal that is being wrapped up, The Hollywood Reporter says.

Seacrest made just under $5 million for his work on the series this season, and there’s no word on how much more he’ll get under the new contract, which is believed to be for three years. The new deal also calls for him to possibly develop series with “Idol” creator Simon Fuller’s 19 Entertainment.

  1. Why? I don’t understand Ryan’s value.

  2. I agree, Darla. I think he’s a big deal in LA, but his value is lost on the rest of us. Frankly, anyone could do what he’s doing.

  3. Hi chopped liver, i thought he was a big deal everywhere else but LA. In LA we see him as pretty untalented but somehow got in at the right time. What does he really do anyway, i dont get it, he’s not but funny more of a pest really..

  4. If he earns that much then he is one of the fortunate ones. Everyone has value, after they show that they can perform the job. He should be in the entertainment field for years. I do not see what Ryan sees in LA? If it’s for the cash then that only. His announcing style is good.

  5. Poor, poor Brian Dunkleman. Brian, take that shot gun out of your mouth!

  6. Dreamin. I love blogging. You all express your feelings the right way, because they are your feeling, focus on your blog it is great.
