ABC Takes Nontraditional ‘Inner Circle’ Approach to Generate Buzz for ‘Modern Family’

ABC, trying out an unconventional way to market their upcoming documentary-style comedy, "Modern Family," will offer an online screening of the show to a select group of about 20,000 viewers who make up the “ABC Inner Circle” online fan base, Josef Adalian reports on The Wrap.

ABC is operating under the theory that the members of the fan base will create a buzz about the show through social networking sites such as Twitter and Facebook, Adalian says, adding that the network is not forgoing the more traditional ways of promoting the show.
