“Dancing with the Stars” will begin with 16 celebrity contestants, making it the show’s biggest cast ever, ET reports.
Conrad Green, the show’s producer, confirmed that the it would premier with 16 celebrities and then have three double elimination episodes in a row about half way through the season.
He also said the Paula Abdul might be a possible guest judge, or even a contestant. "She has never been trained in ballroom and Latin," he says, "so that is a possibility as well. It is for Paula to work out. At the moment, the world is her oyster. Everyone wants her. At our show, we are great fans of Paula."
The new cast of the show will be announced on “Good Morning America” on August 17. The new season kicks off on ABC at 8 p.m. on September 21.
