Veteran TV reporter Verne Gay, who was with Advertising Age and Variety many years ago and has been with Newsday for the past 16 years, got down to the nitty-gritty in a session with NBC executives Wednesday at the summer press tour of the TV Critic’s Association in Pasadena, Calif.
