Neil Patrick Harris, star of “How I Met Your Mother,” and who will host the Emmy Award broadcast next month, agrees with the to pre-tape part of the ceremonies, People reports.

CBS’s decision to tape award presentations in certain categories 45 minutes before the broadcast begins has drawn ridicule from some producers and writers who fear it will diminish their achievement.

"We’re just trying to edit down the standing and the hugging and the walking down the aisle,” says Harris. “Quite frankly, the writers’ speeches are some of the best ones of the night. So, we’ll be able to highlight them more than anything. There’s just some boring parts of that that we’re just trying to trim down."

  1. It’s now NPH’s determination as to which parts are boring?
I wonder how he’ll feel if they pre-tape the best supporting awards…

  2. With ratings in the toilet, and no one watching, I guess you’d rather the folks making the show just keep doing the same things over again Bill? If they’re not cutting acceptance speeches WTH are you complaining about? Nothing. The only live awards should be with actors we viewers see anyway – VIEWERS – you don’t have as many as you used to, remember? Everything else is Hollywood ego determine to see your ratings go down or have me TiVo right past you. Morons. Complainers are cutting their nose to spite their faces.

  3. You make blogging look like a walk in the park! I’ve been trying to blog daily but I just cant find writing material.. you’re an inspiration to me and i’m sure many others!
