Next month’s star studded tribute to Michael Jackson in Vienna will be televised, live, to an audience of one billion people across the globe, the Associated Press reports.
The three-hour event will be broadcast from a 17th century palace in Vienna, Austria and is being publicized as the main global tribute to Jackson.
World Awards Media GmbH’s Georg Kindel said that negotiations over the rights to broadcast the tribute are ongoing. He also stated that the king of pop’s brother, Jermaine, is putting together a bill of about 10 “of the biggest artists of our time.”
Tickets go on sale August 20 and the event will be held in mid to late September.
The show will also feature Hollywood stars and family members sharing memories of the performer as video clips and pictures are displayed.
