Eric McCormack will star in a Lifetime movie about con artist Clark Rockefeller, reports The Hollywood Reporter.

It’s expected to start production in October for a March premiere, with Mikael Salomon ("Natalee Holloway") directing from Edithe Swensen’s script.

McCormack also is attached to star in a single-camera sitcom, as a widower surrounded by an eccentric group of friends and family, that’s about to go out to the networks.

It’s being written on spec by Alex Barnow and Marc Firek (“‘Till Death”).

Both projects are from Sony Pictures Television.

McCormack co-starred in TNT’s original series "Trust Me" earlier this year.
