ESPN Looking to Wrestle Olympics Away from NBC

ESPN wants to end NBC’s longtime Olympics franchise by grabbing the U.S. TV rights to the 2014 and 2016 Games, John Skipper, the network’s executive vice president of content, told USA Today.

"We’ll be there. We’re having discussions with them," Skipper told the paper.

To prove its capability for covering a global sporting event to Olympics officials, ESPN is going all out on its coverage of the 2010 FIFA World Cup.
