"American Idol’s" Simon Cowell has retracted his comment that if he had been judging the Beatles for an appearance on U.K. competition show "The X Factor," he would have told them to ditch drummer Ringo Starr, according to Radaronline.com.

Cowell gave a statement to the site saying he didn’t mean to offend Starr. “Regarding my comments on the Beatles, it was a joke. I have always said they were the group I have always wished I had signed."

Separately, in response to Ellen DeGeneres taking over as the fourth judge on "American Idol," Eonline.com reports former judge Paula Abdul tweeted: "I think Ellen will b a gr8 judge on Idol. She is wildly funny, talented and I wish her the best of luck!"

  1. Ellen would be a great replacement for PA…the labels suing her is just another sign of the times…its so tough for labels to make money that they are suing everyone who uses music without paperwork…

  2. I agree with your thoughts here and I really love your blog! I’ve bookmarked it so that I can come back & read more in the future.
