Taylor Swift to Visit ‘The View’ Tuesday; Kanye’s Headed for ‘Leno’ Tonight

Singer Taylor Swift will appear on "The View" tomorrow, where she’ll sing two songs and, most likely, talk to the ladies about her appearance on Sunday’s MTV Video Music Awards, according to the Associated Press.

While accepting her Video Music Award at the show, Swift was interrupted by Kanye West, who proceeded to declare that Beyonce should have won the award in Swift’s place.

EW.com says West will be one of the guests on Jay Leno’s first primetime show at 10 p.m. tonight on NBC. West is scheduled to perform with Beyonce’s husband, Jay-Z, and Rihanna on the show.

  1. Kanye West doesn’t deserve to be treated any better than he treated Taylor Swift. Why would any show grant him a platform to put on his “humble” act? His cruelty and narcissism would have made his mother so ashamed. Taylor, this will make you stronger, and you don’t need to worry about where your talent will take you; you deserve every award they can give.

  2. Wow he did what he did so what, hi music is great and what he did had nothing to do with preforming or anything besides beyonce gave the little girl her moment back so u should be happy

  3. Kanye is on the tail end of a decent career. His last album bombed and he’s looking for another publicity stunt to raise his profile. This one seems to be blowing up in his face, for good reason, what he did was despicable.
He’ll be on Dancing with the Stars next season and then fade into obscurity with all the other has beens.

  4. Kanye West makes 80% of his money (and always has) by producing beats for famous rappers’ music. Have you ever noticed how he has no concern for his public reputation? This was made obvious by what he did at the VMAs, and has happened in the past as well (note – during Katrina, “George Bush hates black people” speech on live television). Kanye doesn’t owe MTV anything, because they had nothing to do with his becoming famous; he’s been making Jay-Z’s beats since “Big Pimpin” in the nineties, and has worked with Talib Kweli, J-Dilla, Slum Village, Common, Lupe Fiasco, and a slew of other extremely talented, extremely well-revered rappers. Why would Kanye care about making an ass of himself on the most commercialized pop culture pageant of the year? He stands for something else – Taylor Swift wasn’t hurt and she definitely could have done a little more than just stand there and look victimized. IT WAS 15 SECONDS OF NON-SCRIPTED TALKING, and that was it. I think Kanye is admirable for revealing just how much of a joke TV awards shows really are. Cookie cutter pageantry is not worth my time, Kanye’s, and it especially should not be worth so much to everyone else. Move on with your lives, get off the band wagon.

  5. Oh, I totes call shenanigans on this whole thing. Every year at the VMAs, there’s always some kind of manufactured controversy. This year, it’s Kanye and Taylor Swift and Beyonce. Are we supposed to believe that he just happened to be onstage? That it was a coincidence that both Taylor and Beyonce just happened to be wearing red dresses in THE EXACT SAME shade of red? Yeah. As if.

  6. I don’t think you are right that Kanye doesn’t care about these shows – I think he cares WAY TOO MUCH. He loses it every time what he thinks should win doesn’t or any time he feels slighted.
I like Beyonce, but I fail to see how a well choreographed dance in black bodysuits makes for the best video ever?
Kanye has issues and he knows it. This much arrogance reaks of insecurity. He sings very publicly about his struggles to be the man he should be, yet fails.
I personally think he’s bipolar – he has no ability to think before he speaks or “filter” what comes out of his mouth. He should probably lay off the “sippy sippy”.
Taylor has been gracious and she’s getting a ton of support.
Both of them will benefit from the publicity.
Kanye remains a phenomenal talent and like many stars before him, people will not stop buying his albums because they have issues with his rude behaviour…it is what makes his music real.
