At the wonderfully named website Film School Rejects, Dr. Cole Abaius, using 10 real movies, explains in language even we here at TVWeek can understand how the new weighted voting system will work when the members of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts & Sciences vote for Best Picture next year. Click here to read.

Since the real reason the Oscar folks went back to 10 best film nominees is to increase viewership of its Oscarcast by including some more popular films,  it’s worth paying close attention to how it works. Furthermore, it’s always an option the Academy of Television Arts & Sciences could adopt as well.
