NBC Cancels Series

The new series that’s reportedly the most expensive on NBC’s lineup–despite being from sibling Universal Media Studios, has been canceled, Variety reports

The show is hte medical drama "Trauma," and shooting for the series will end after its initial 13-episode order.

The show will nonetheless stay on the network’s Monday schedule until its run is complete.

According to the article, "The network was put in a tough spot earlier in the year when "Parenthood" had to be pushed back to 2010 when co-star Maura Tierney was ill."

The network’s other medical series, “Mercy,” previously got a full-season order.

  1. Once again the Not Very Bright Corporation kills one of its better products. No wonder they’ve no hope of being the top network ever again.

  2. WOW! There goes another lame-brain idea from NBC! Apparently, they don’t have anyone who watches at home & reports back to NBC or Jeff Zucker.

  3. No surprise here. Despite the premise, the show was boring. There was only one interesting character – “Rabbit”. As someone in the Medical profession, I can’t for the life of me figure out how these shows can get so much wrong. I know they have a budget to pay consultants to at least approximate correct medical procedures.
    I left my heart in San Francisco too, but as a setting for this show, it was too static. Overall, TV is circling the drain.
