A week ago, Eric Braeden was adamantly declaring that he would not accept a Sony-dictated pay cut and he would leave CBS’ "The Young & the Restless," where he has played the role of Victor Newman for 30 years.
But now the two sides have reached a compromise and the actor will not be leaving CBS’s top-rated soap opera after all, reports The Wrap.

Glad to hear Victor is not leaving. Everything is changing so much. It is as if there is no loyalty to the viewers who have watched the show for years. I grew up with the Newmans. Who came in after they got rid of the Brooks family. The day Victor and Niki leave I leave. Get rid of some of those other insignificant characters and build around the strong ones. Adam can go, Ashley as sad as it may seem can go. This new generation thing sounds good, but they are going to lose a lot of viewers to the “cooking” and “court” tv shows in a minute. Tell them to watch out! I love Victor…going back to the Rat Patrol. He is the only character who has stayed true to his nature. Other than John, who for some reason they decided to kill off, and then have his ghost hovering around the house and office. And, I love Phyllis but she can go too. In my view when they put Nick and Phyllis together, it signaled the end of something and the beginning of catering to a new audience, forgetting the long time viewers have a memory. Put Nick back with Sharon and tell them to put Adam back in jail and give the baby back. Send Ashley to the hospital and they will cut the budget. There you go.
Please how old is Newman anyway are they just propping him up? His sex scenes are getting creepy!
I had no idea Victor was in the Rat Patrol until I was home with a cold. Couldn’t sleep around 2-3 AM and flipped through the TV only to find Victor! OMG!
I was in shock! At first I didn’t think it was him until he started giving orders. He looked good in a uniform.
Still love Victor on Y&R! Victor rules that show. And Lue in this post is absolutely correct! I’ve been watching the Newmans and the rest of the cast is just eye candy for those nubile bodies.
Did you know they have to attend acting classes during the week because they don’t know how??? William Bell didn’t want those teenagers screwing up his work. So he created acting classes for them.
