CBS’ ‘Numb3rs’ Wrapping Up With Fifth Season

Nov 6, 2009  •  Post A Comment

CBS’ recent decision to cut the episode order for "Numb3rs" from 22 to 16 was a signal that the show will not be returning for a sixth season, reports Michael Ausiello in Entertainment Weekly.

The producers have been given notice and have accepted the end date as an opportunity to wrap up all the storylines in the remaining shows.

  1. It’s actually the sixth season right now. The first season was 13 episodes and started in January 2005.

  2. At least they’re getting a chance to wrap up the show properly. It’s one of my favorites and my Friday nights won’t be the same without it.
I do think, if they had to go, this was a good time, with Charlie’s marriage and Don contemplating a change – I can’t wait to see how it ends.

  3. Hopefully this means the return of Flashpoint! JOE

  4. This is terrible news! Another well written show gets cancelled because it appeals to an older audience. Show a midlife crisis get the ax. Like Boston Legal before it this one deals with an adult take on issues of our day but a Network would rather go for younger viewers who aren’t even home Friday night at 10 PM. They’ll probably replace it with some dumb ass Canadian show that costs them less and lacks the ensemble cast we have grown to care about. This show repeatedly gave CBS the Friday win and drew an average of 11 million viewers. Gee, maybe they can put Letterman on in this hour . Better still every Friday night he shares quality time with a different staff member and we tune in to see who blows the whistle.
