Comcast Sidesteps NBC Primetime Lineup in Presentation

Dec 4, 2009  •  Post A Comment

Comcast touted the acquistion of NBCU with a 36 slide presentation, but the NBC primetime lineup was barely part of the tout — just an image of a poster for "The Office," according to The Hollywood Reporter.

No NBC primetime shows, not "Law & Order" or "30 Rock" or "The Jay Leno Show," were crowed about, however names were named in the NBCU’s cable nets presentation … although "In Plain Sight" was misspelled "In Plain Site." Ooops.

  1. Look for a big program dump in NBC’s current Prime Time lineup – only survivors would be 30 Rock, Heroes and The Office. To put it mildly, NBC’s primetime line-up sucks really bad. Comcast may have its own ideas on how to shore-up the Peacock network. Comcast is a content creator, GE is industrial-financial – there never was a real synergy between GE and NBC. I would expect improvements under Comcast in prime time – possibly as early as the Fall 2010 line-up. Expect Leno to be dropped – he’ll either head to ABC late night, or as a replacement to Dave Letterman should he retire.
