‘Rudolph’ Rings the Ratings Bell for CBS

Dec 3, 2009  •  Post A Comment

The holiday classic "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer" was a winner in the Wednesday ratings race, picking up a 3.8 preliminary Nielsen rating among adults 18-49 for CBS, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Thus far this year, that’s tops for holiday programs. CBS followed "Rudolph" with a new concert/announcement special, "Grammy Nominations Live," good for a 2.3. Fox’s "Glee" at 9 p.m. hit a high note in the demo with a 3.6, the best this season for the musical drama. It was considerably better than its lead-in, "So You Think You Can Dance," which earned a 2.3.

ABC was offering mostly reruns, but a new "The Middle" rated a 2.0, and the soon-to-be canceled "Eastwick" scrounged up a 1.3. "Christmas in Rockefeller Center" brought NBC a 1.8.

  1. It just isn’t Christmas until we get to see Rudolph, Frosty, and the Charlie Brown Christmas specials every year!

  2. I’m not sure what’s going on but my browser declared that your website is a source of fishing attack.
