The Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Was Lit After All

Dec 3, 2009  •  Post A Comment

The National Association of Broadcast Employees and Technicians decided not to strike NBC’s “Christmas in Rockefeller Center” broadcast, after an earlier threat to do so, B&C reports.

The union said it would strike if there wasn’t progress on talks for a new contract. Despite the fact that there wasn’t, the union said "We’re not going to let the Grinch at NBC ruin Christmas for millions of people around the world. So we’re going to stay on the job. We hope that NBC sees Christmas as a time of goodwill, too, and that they negotiate a new and fair contract with us."

NBC said earlier that it was the union that had been holding up talks.

  1. I read a similar article on a different site and didn’t really understand it, but this post makes it easier to understand. Thanks!

  2. Why is Erecting a Mosque at Ground Zero getting permitted to happen? I have never heard anything so obviously ludicrous in all my entire life. If this by chance comes to reality, It would be the worst thing ever in your life. adeline
