Comcast Chairman Brian Roberts, in a Washington, D.C. appearance before the Congressional Internet Caucus’ State of the Net Conference, said there are no plans to move the NBC network to cable, when Comcast takes control of NBC Universal, B&C reports.
Talk of moving the network to cable is "right off the table," he said, according to B&C.
When asked why NBC should remain a free network, he cited the example of ABC’s Monday Night Football, whose ratings dropped when the program moved to ESPN.
Roberts didn’t comment on NBC’s latenight mess, but he did say that NBCU chief Jeff Zucker is “going to be the CEO of the company."

Ridiculous. Zucker has failed miserably and he gets to keep his job? This is exactly what’s wrong with America.
I would expect Comcast’s boss to continue the blockheaded mentality that Zucker has used to demolish NBC. Comcast is an all numbers, dollar and cents, MBA run company that has no understanding of how to relate to an audience…that is to PEOPLE.
That Comcast has power over what Mr. Sarnoff started is a travesty.
I love a good profit as much as the next person, but it is the result of creativity in this business. The creativity to have a vision and to recognize the various forms of creativity and how to creatively combine people and ideas to successfully complete a communication…that is the secret of a Tartikoff, or a Weaver. These guys today may have the positions, but they have nothing to support keeping these over-paid posts. Our poor Peacock is loosing more feathers every day.
